An AppalCART driver naps in the lobby of the Reich College of Education at Appalachian State University on February 15, 2023. AppalCART is Boone, North Carolina's only source of public transportation, and driver's are frequently short staffed and overworked.
The pedestrian crossing light at the corner of Depot Street and West King Street in Boone, North Carolina, is covered with stickers on the afternoon of February 15, 2023. Students at the nearby Appalachian State University regularly "stickerbomb" these lights with stickers promoting brands, bands, sports teams and political issues.
